*Project featured was performed by B. Thayer Associates and its professionals prior to joining PS&S.
Due to Hurricane Sandy, the Coney Island branch of the Brooklyn Public Library was flooded with standing water measuring 58-inches deep from floor finish elevation. The Gerritsen Beach branch was flooded with standing water measuring approximately 12-inches deep from floor finish elevation.
PS&S professionals were contracted to prepare reports assessing the structural integrity of each branch based on visual inspections of the buildings. The reviews included the sites, building exterior and interior, and all parts thereof to determine whether the exterior and interior structural members and the appurtenances that were in need of remedial work or repair and maintenance due to the effects of the storm.
