| Dear Friends of PS&S:
As we embark on the upcoming year, PS&S anticipates an exhilarating period marked by significant developments. Over the years, our dedicated Architectural, Engineering, Environmental, and Survey consultancy efforts have been instrumental in numerous projects through diverse partnerships. This trend continues into the new year, and we are thrilled to unveil our involvement in two distinctive collaborations: PreMier ERC and Coprata.
PreMier ERC
PreMiEr is a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded Engineering Research Center (ERC) headquartered at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, USA. PS&S is proud to contribute as the first industry partner to the ERC. This collaborative initiative spans five universities throughout North Carolina and aims to drive innovation in the built environment. Focused on preventing infectious microorganisms while promoting beneficial ones, our role is pivotal in influencing the direction of the team. Having actively collaborated with Duke University on this groundbreaking project, PS&S is poised to bring forth transformative contributions, as our newest Senior Director, David Frenze, elaborates on the intricate details below.
Coprata
Coprata, the smart toilet that can help make you healthier. It takes a pioneering approach to data collection for evaluating "gut health," Coprata represents a cutting-edge integration of technology and AI with a traditional fixture—the age-old toilet. PS&S has been an integral part of this venture since its inception, actively contributing to product design and development. As the product enters its pilot stage, I am working closely with Coprata team to consult on this very important invention.
In 2024, PS&S will continue to solidify our position at the forefront of innovation and collaboration. We believe that this commitment to excellence will benefit our employees and our clients as we continue to grow and diversify in the coming years. We look forward to working with you in the New Year! Sincerely, |

Unlocking Digestive Wellness |
In the dynamic health and wellness landscape, Coprata stands out as a game-changer, redefining how we understand and optimize digestive health. But how does it work, and what role did PS&S play in this transformative project?
PS&S, serving as a consultant from inception to product design and development, played a pivotal role in shaping Coprata's innovative approach. John Sartor, President and CEO of PS&S, expresses excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to be part of this innovation from the beginning. Our role as consultants underscores our commitment to shaping advancements in health technology." How It Works Coprata initiates with a personalized interaction – users tell the toilet it's them, establishing a connection through a customized button or Bluetooth via the Coprata app. Seamlessly integrating into daily life with minimal adjustments, Coprata becomes a part of existing routines. Once initiated, Coprata takes over post-flush, utilizing cutting-edge technology and AI for automated data collection. This unobtrusive process lets users focus on their routines while valuable health data accumulates.
Beyond data collection, Coprata empowers users with easy access to a wealth of information, presenting Coprata scores and digestive trends through a user-friendly interface. This platform ensures individuals stay informed about their digestive health without the need for complex analyses. Data Collection Uses
Coprata's data collection serves a diverse range of purposes, providing invaluable insights for various applications. It enables Digestive Health Monitoring by gathering data on users' habits, offering a comprehensive view that helps identify patterns and potential issues, empowering individuals to maintain digestive well-being. Secondly, Coprata delivers personalized recommendations by analyzing collected data. Tailored advice, spanning dietary adjustments, lifestyle changes, and wellness practices, is offered to enhance individual digestive health based on observed trends.
Furthermore, Health Trends Analysis involves aggregating data from multiple users can be used to identify broader patterns and trends. This data will be of immense value to researchers, healthcare professionals, and public health organizations in comprehending and addressing digestive health on a larger scale.
Coprata's data collection not only monitors but actively contributes to Research and Development in digestive health. It facilitates the Early Detection of Health Issues, informs the design of the built environment through PS&S's consultancy, empowering individuals to make informed decisions for their overall well-being. |
